Army Emergency Relief (AER)
The purpose of the program is to assist spouses/widows(ers) in gaining the education required to allow them to qualify for increased occupational opportunities. Individuals who receive free tuition as a result of their employment will not receive tuition assistance from AER. However, they may apply for assistance for fees, supplies or books (no duplicates) for classes in which they are enrolled. SEAP is limited to $2500 maximum per academic year.

Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS)
TAPS is a national non-profit, tax-exempt corporation that provides free services to those impacted by the loss of a Marine. These services include a peer support network, grief and trauma counseling referral, an annual military survivor seminar, a quarterly newsletter, and a caseworker assistance program. Services are available 24-hours a day with trained crisis professionals on call to help family members cope with the sudden loss of a loved one. Services are available for all “survivors” including spouses, significant others, parents, children, siblings, co-workers and friends. Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS)

The NMCRS is a private, non-profit charitable organization sponsored by the Department of the Navy and operates nearly 250 offices ashore and afloat on most Navy and Marine Corps installations. The Society provides financial assistance and counseling for survivors. Financial assistance is provided in the form of interest-free loans and/or grants to family members (children) who are pursuing post secondary undergraduate studies or vocational training. Gold Star Wives of America, Inc.
Gold Star Wives Of America, Inc. is an organization of military widows/widowers whose spouse died while on active duty or from service connected disabilities. This military survivors organization has been serving war widows from all conflicts and service connected disabilities since it was founded in 1945. State Provided Education Benefits
Educational benefits for families, particularly the children of deceased, MIA, POW, and disabled veterans, may be available in some states. This program is designed to assist families of non-military personnel injured or killed in the line of supporting our armed forces, in a war related activity! This program thru Faith Reaches Group Network, will be adding to other assistance programs that are made available to the family.
Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA)
Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) offers a Supplemental Education Grant (SEG) of up to $160 per year. You can use this grant for ANY family member's education expenses. However it does not cover Tuition expenses. This grant can also be used to pay for ASVAB, CLEP, SAT, and other study guides. CGMA also offers several education related loans.
